Hey, Laura, that's an interesting point. I was just discussing with a friend Kate's toy plane. Why does it hold such meaning for her? There's the connection with her now-dead doctor friend, but she seems to value it beyond everything else, far more than one would expect for a trinket. Why? It would be cool if it was the same type of toy plane.

I don't really belive Zeke and the scientist are twins either, I would guess that they are the same person, but the twin idea is pretty interesting.

Cecilia, what leads you to believe that Eko knows he will kill Henry later on?

Andi--

I think it's plausible that Zeke & the scientist in the episode could be twins, though I personally don't believe they are.

I interpreted Hurley's "Bad Twin" reading somewhat more like this:
http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14935
It's a wink at the idea of asymmetry in cloning. I don't believe the characters are literally clones, but more metaphorically, that they exemplify imperfections in how the island reflects back our own images. Used in that sense, "bad" would not have a moral implication; it is merely meant in the same way as "imperfect" or poorly reflective... much like a funhouse mirror.

I find Laura's interpretation interesting of the Henry Gale/Locke scene. That scene where he throws a hissy fit is a little over-obvious, and I wonder if it is the result of bad writing or good writing myself (to make it obvious as part of an act).

Though I personally still believe that it was to show the contrast between how Eko handles Henry (with authority, and I do not believe in ANY way that he was being manipulated by Henry--in fact, as I've said before... I think the act of cutting off the beard and "confessing" only makes sense if you take it not as a literal interpretation of "I'm sorry I killed your 2 friends"... but rather as his wanting forgiveness for what he knows will happen in the FUTURE--namely, that he will kill Henry someday). Locke, I believe, is just not in control of his emotions enough to do the manipulating at that point.

The fact that those scenes are seen so differently by so many different people is really interesting, isn't it? LOST is a Rorschach inkblot test for it's viewers.

Can't take credit for this idea, but thought it was good enough to share - Perhpas Locke was not acting, he was angry, but not because of what Henry said - Locke was angry because he just realized that Henry is an 'other' and he doesn't want an 'other' in the hatch.

This is the "other" Laura...HA, get it? Laura, I agree with your theory, partly. I couldnt believe that Locke, who supported Sayid's torturing of Henry, all of a sudden began to take stock in what Henry was saying. It seemed very out of character for someone who seems to be "in tune" with hidden agendas. But then again, perhaps this is the first glimpse we have of "anger management" Locke. Also, I think it's strange that the producers would conceal so much from the audience in regards to Jack and Locke "play acting" for Henry...so that leads me to believe that Locke is genuinely enraged at Henry's comment. Time will tell I guess...

Laura - I was one of the people that believed that Locke was genuinely upset, but after reading your post, I can see how you came across your theory, how interesting - these two guys aren't DUMMIES (Jack/Locke) although they are competitive, but in the long run its about safety for the group, so yeah good one Laura...
