Anyhow… sitting here running my mouth to co-workers about Lost (they just dont get it… then again I am the only person in the office under 50) it occured to me that maybe it was Desmond in the Pearl Station.
We can assume that he wasn’t able to leave the island seeing as how no one else has been able to do so.
He would obviously had time to scour the island and find the Pearl Station.. may have even noticed the cameras in the Swan station and decided to find out where they fed to. If infact the joint/cigarette was burning.. is it possible that Desmond was watching and took off when he saw Echo & Locke approaching?
I mean, we only got to see what came up on one monitor… there were how many? 12?
Another thing….. the cut heroin in the Pearl Hatch.. wouldn’t Desmond have heard that plane crash?

I haven’t seen the ring, but I know that the writers throw in subtle references to all kinds of movies they like so it wouldn’t be surprising if they where a bit inspired by The Ring, but I have no idea if we should see these kind of connections as some kind of clue to the overall mystery.

It appears to be coming from a lit cig. Perhaps Dr. Candle/Wickmund just finished taping when they showed up. Hmmmm, there is that time thing again. I still think there is some sort of time travel happening. Back to work…can’t wait for tonite.
