Personally, I believe that Desmond had a dream… literally. I think when he was sleeping he had realistic dreams about the future. I don’t like to think he was awake and suddenly went all Dead Zone on us and wistnessed Locke giving the speech.

Need help. I posted on the Lost BB the following questions yesterday. I had five replies with no real anwser only to come back today and find it was pulled.. Hmmm

In teh 3rd season opener we see kate come out of the shower in the locker room only to find her clothes gone. Look at the locker numbers on the lockers where she looks for her old clothse. Then she see’s another locker with the tape thats says wear me, the Tag on this locker is different than all others. “LYUN 841″ Lyun is korean, so I thought maybe they were hinting at the origian of Dharma, but there is no locker manafacture I can find on the web from LYUN. What is the signifigance of 841? Why did they pull my post? more questions than awnsers im afraid…..

The King, it’s an interesting idea, but I think Lord of the Rings is much more of a fantasy world than Lost. I don’t think Desmond was brought back by some higher power , but I guess it could be possible considering all the connections to religion in Lost.

I think desmond died like gandalf in The lord of the Rings and has now been sent back to help the survivors survive. desmond was given his powers to protect key figures in the future of the island

Walt, Desmond and Mr. Eko now all have “precog” of a sort. Physicist Richard Feynman describes a state of “reverse time” – likewise physicist Wolfgang Pauli discussed such states and wrote about this condition with Swiss depth psychologist C.G. Jung. Encounters with Spirit Bear/Polar Bear in cave brings psychological turning for Eko (dark night of soul – “Star Wars” has such an episode as well) – the individual is “born again” in cave – womb of the Earth Mother – and returns transformed. Desmond is naked – “born again” after the explosion (space/time anomaly); a new man in a new age. This parallels the Dharma path in which evertything has two levels – Nirvana (the Unconscious or inner world) and Samsara (the Conscious and outer world). Classically, submarines in dreams represent a journey to the Unconscious (” . . . we all live in a Yellow Submarine.”) These themes were most advanced by Jung/Pauli and popularized by Joseph Campbell, the great mythologist who taught at Sarah Lawrence, where J.J. Abrams went to college.

Ben seems to always have a leg up…though I think it’s more because of his spy gear. There was that Other women that talked to Michael about Walt before she gave him the list. What happended to her? She seemed to know about that kind of stuff? Maybe she’s helping Ben too.

In “Every Man for Himself” Desmond seemed to know about the lightning striking Claire’s “home” on the beach. Knowing this, Desmond asked Claire to move but when she didn’t want to, he instead built a lightning rod.

The lightning struck the rod instead of Claire’s home and by changing the future Desmond saved the life of Claire, Aaron and Charlie.

Possibly another sign of precognition?
