I’m pretty sure the clothes has little to do with Sawyer falling in love with her if we can even call it that–I’d say the clothes revealed a little more of what he already wanted to see anyway…I mean seriously, the guy has had the hots for her since they crashed.

Perhaps the most famous element of Galaga is the ability for the player’s ship to be captured by the enemy. Boss Galagas (the gray enemies at the top of the formation) will occasionally stop mid-dive and attempt to capture the player’s ship with a tractor beam.

Maybe a tractor beam is what kept desmond from finding new zealand like he said he should have after a week of sailing. It also could have caused rousseau’s science team’s ship to crash into the rocks.

I heard a thought (podcast) that they dressed Kate in nice clothes so that Sawyer would easily fall in love with Kate, however, i dont know the purpose to why really. Regarding Kate’s behavior, we have to remember her little chat with Ben in A Tale of Two Cities. He told her that the next weeks would be hell for her. The question is if he meant physically or mentally. I think he offered her some kind of deal which she reluctantly agreed to and that’s why she takes it easy around The Others.
