that’s also the “reality” of the island. trying to survive with basically no modern comforts or technologies has gotta be difficult and one would expect some casualties in real life. that’s not talking about the others of course, as they seem to have everything figured out… but the losties or anyone in a similar situation would be in a lot of danger. i would think they’re just trying to make it more realistic even though we all miss the characters we’ve “lost” (hehehe)

A good character is someone we can relate to in one way or another. If we watch the show long enough, that character will soon feel like one of our friends, and loosing a friend is never fun. That’s the way I see it.

It just occurred to me that there seems to be a “revolving door” of characters on Lost. If I think about it, this fortunately AND unfortunately makes sense in that Lost retains a sense of freshness by introducing new characters but also loses viewer and established character connections. I think that this last thought could be why WE viewers get so frustrated with the show because we develop a liking to certain characters and when they are killed off we get angry.
Just thinking out loud.
Any thoughts?
