If I’m not mistaken, the next Lost episode “Not in Portland” was directed by JJ, and “A Tale of Two Cities” was written by him, so he has been a bit more involved this season.

I don’t think the “lack” of involvement in Lost is due to low confidence in the show. JJ strikes me as a a starter. He enjoys coming up with new projects and ideas. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t care about his old projects, just that he doesn’t have enough time to spend working on them.

I don’t think others will jump the ship, except writer Jeph Loeb who already quit to work on Heroes.

I think JJ’s episodes are amazing and was hopeing for some more since it’s been so long. He just has that knack for finding the perfect camera angle. I’ve been watching the first and second seasons for the last week now and no other director captures the essence of lost like he does. Is this a sign of his confidence in lost? Should we expect others to jump ship too?
