Lost creator to direct The Dark Tower

According to IGN, Lost co-creator JJ Abrams is going to direct a TV or Movie version of Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower”:

Sources advised us that an official announcement is forthcoming. We have been unable to determine whether Dark Tower will be a film project or a TV miniseries, although the latter is a more likely prospect given the complex nature of King’s seven-book series. Given Abrams’ success on the small screen — and King’s well known love for the Abrams-produced TV series Lost — the tube seems a better fit for The Dark Tower. That said, IGN now has reason to believe the project will be for the big-screen.

They are also writing that recent rumors point to that JJ is only going to produce the upcoming Star Trek XI movie which he was previously rumored to be directing.

As we’ve previously reported, both JJ Abrams, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are fans of Stephen King’s work, and the horror writer himself is supposedly a big Lost fan so any future collaborations between the writers should be really interesting!

Thanks to Bill for the tip!
