Yay, Damon and Carlton are back to enlighten us about Lost!
The latest official Lost podcast was just released. This is the description:
Executive Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse take fan questions and tease next week’s episode, “The Man From Tallahassee” (3/21/07). Emilie de Ravin recounts shooting last week’s episode, “Par Avion”.

Is the information revealed in the podcasts off-limits for discussion here? I’m not talking about teasers for upcoming episodes, but comments Carlton and Damon make about past episodes, to (supposedly) clear up confusion among the viewers.
Anything said by Damon or Carlton can be discussed. I’m just against episode previews or other forms of spoilers that reveal upcoming events in the story which would be more fun to actually see for yourself than to read =)
I agree – I avoid episode previews altogether. But I enjoy reading interviews with anyone involved in making Lost so sometimes I inadvertently get read spoilers. For example, several weeks ago there was an article on EW.com, I believe, and in it, they mentioned the characters Jack and Tom throwing a football around. So the final scene in Par Avion wasn’t as surprising to me as it seems to have been to other people here.
Regarding this week’s podcast, I haven’t listened yet but read the summary on Lostpedia, but apparently Carlton and Damon said that we should believe everything Mikhail says, except him being in Dharma. Apparently that answers a lot of the questions I and other people here have had about Mikhail. BUT, we know he was also lying when he said something like “the security perimeter has not functioned in years, just like everything else on the island.” So, did they just forget about that lie, and did they mean we should believe everything else? And if so, does that mean he was lying only about the security perimeter, or also about everything else not working too? I guess, in true Lost form, the answers the producers provide result in more questions.
I’m actually writing a post about Mikhail’s revelations so we could discuss this more in depth later, but I didn’t think about the fact that he was wrong about the security perimeter not working.
Damon said that Mikhail at least believed that what he said was true, except that he was Dharma, so maybe Mikhail believed that the sonic fence wasn’t functional?

That could very well be the case. Like I said, I haven’t listened to the podcast yet, but I have noticed in the past that the summaries written on Lostpedia and other websites don’t always accurately convey what was said.

In the podcast they were taking about the dialogue in the jungle before getting to the sonic fence, so I think they were refering only to the things that Mikhail said in The Flame.
I just finished listening to the podcast, which does have some spoilers which I won’t mention.
Yes, this is happening on an island.
The Others, including Ben and Patchy, might say some things that they think is the truth, but there might be another version, especially concerning the Purge. (Some things were said about “Him,” but you’ll have to listen to the podcast for that.)
The Others didn’t know about the button-pushing routine at the Swan until after the Losties got involved. This supports that notion that the Others have limited knowledge about the island and what the dharmas were up to.
Some things were said about the sonic fence…I’ll leave it at that.
