Introduction

First and foremost, I would like to apologize for the downtime the site has experienced over the past few days. The primary “goal” in transferring the hosting of the site was to minimize the disruption of service, and hopefully we did not alienate any of you in the process. So, even though the first couple of days have been rocky, we are really excited.

We understand there are big shoes to fill to taking over an effort that Andreas, and the contributors to this site (i.e. YOU), have put a lot of intelligent effort into. My name is Will McIntosh and I have been a fan of Lost since its inception, and in the process have followed this blog for quite sometime. When it became clear that Andreas was looking to sell the website to focus on his future career, I became interested for a couple of reasons:

  • The readership is quite impressive
  • The intelligent conversation that takes place amongst the individuals that participate in the dialogue associated with Andreas’ posts is second to none in the world of Lost websites
  • The format that Andreas has created (site design, providing before and after commentary on episodes, following the tangential paths of the actors and actresses, facilitating conversation, etc.) works quite well

Most Importantly

It would have been disappointing to have seen someone else purchase the blog and take it in a totally different direction. I will not be managing this site alone (hence the “we” references above), and will have the help of a few of my friends that are similarly passionate about Lost and who can positively contribute to the collective effort.

Much like Andreas, we will not use this website to overtly spoil anything that is going to be happening in the coming weeks related to Lost, as there are plenty of those sites out there, and when we do reference any type of “spoiler” information, we will mark it accordingly.

I wish the best of luck to Andreas and hopefully he will contribute when he has time; and I also thank you for your past and (hopefully) future participation.

Will

    Hello Will and friends,
I’m glad to hear that you’re a legitimate candidate for running this website! Hope everything goes well as I look forward to reading your blogs!

See you in another life brotha!

    i’m excited!

    Who the hell are you?

Haha. Just kidding! Actually, I’d wanted to use that line since Sawyer used it too many times a few weeks back. But seriously, it might be good to know, who are you?

Why not tell us a little bit about yourselves? =]

    Will,
It is great that you could step in here. I, too, have been impressed (and humbled) by the intelligent discussion. Hope it stays that way. With the increasing excitement about the blog, as indicated by growing numbers of post-ers, it has been hard for some to follow all the rules, e.g., reading all posts before adding a new one. Thanks, for trying to ensure that we don’t get lost. By the way, is Andreas really gone or will he come back in another episode?

Hey SpinPapi, I read your first line and got a little nervous :) I am 27 and live in the Southeastern U.S; Myrtle Beach, SC to be precise.

The group of us that will be managing the site work together for a web development company that specializes in providing web design, hosting, software applications, etc. for tourism and real estate-related businesses. We are a diverse group, so we should add some spirited debate to the collective.

Over the past year we have found ourselves spending more and more time discussing Lost and our numerous theories. In doing so, I have followed this blog because of the great dialogue that takes place in these posts, and when I realized Andreas wanted to move on, everything else really came together.

Hey Joel, thanks for the post. We are going to be looking at a number of ways to better organize the content of the site so that it is easier to navigate and read through all of the great commentary.

Specifically at the conclusion of Season 3, I am sure we will implement a number of enhancements that will hopefully make for an even better experience.

I have a pretty strong suspicion that we have not seen the last of Andreas.

    So that explains it…
I was a little excited (in a bad way) after the talk of selling the site then seeing the “your domain index goes here” page. My first thought was Jacob has shut it down because we are really close to finding the island. Then I realized I was quite the geek and should stick to my 2 cents mantra…
So here are my 2 cents:
    a) Many of us really like this site for the NO-SPOILERS spin. (there are many places to go to for spoiler info)
    b) Keep it simple stupid….wait, was that for me or for you?

Looking forward to getting LOST with Will and his band of misfits!

Hi Will, Thanks for stepping in and continuing the Lost Blog. I am glad to hear you will be keeping a “no spoilers” rule. This site generally has the most intelligent discussions and I look forward to discussing more and different ideas and commentary from you and your colleagues. Cheers!

The island. The island brought us here. This is no ordinary place, you’ve seen that, I know you have. But the island chose YOU. It’s destiny.

Will…totally stoked to have ya. I hope you know you haven’t just purchased a blog, you’ve joined a family…a family of overzealous, obsessive people with entirely too much time on our hands. I look forward to your insight.

    cheers!

Welcome Will and friends and best of luck!!
I want to weigh in also on the no spoiler rule – I would hope that even comments with spoiler warnings would be kept off the site. Somehow they always get read, and ruin it for us all.

  14. shauna says:

Welcome to the blog. I wish you all the best of the luck with this insane endeavor. My only complaint is that recently there have been a few bad apples putting up rude comments and insulting the other posts. I’m glad that most people just ignore them, but it’s still aggravating. I really hope you guys can figure out a way to deal with that.

  15. Tasha says:

Hi Will. I hope it all works out:) I love this blog and the only reason I don’t like it is it seems like I get NOTHING done on Thursdays. I spend most of my Thursday up here reading and commenting about the episodes. I can’t help myself! I am addicted! I also like the no spoiler rule and no negative comments about the show.

Don’t worry. As long as you don’t throw us through an eighth story plate glass window, we promise not to trigger your implants. >=]~

    Shauna,

shut up, your so stupid. No one gives a damn about your stupid opinion. I hate you and wish you would stop so flippin’ stupid!

…JOKING! I totally agree, rude comments are getting annoying. Just the same, We really don’t need 32 comments about how hot some new character is!

  19. Hammer says:

The one thing I wish there was more of on this blog is comedy. (Although recently I have seen more of it.) Hopfully Will and his bunch will support us in our wise cracks, as long as they are good spirited and maybe add some humor of their own.

  20. cheese says:

    hello, Will

my bookmarks for this site r not working, it comes up with apache site page error, etc
the only way in, was to google search the blog for new POSTS, lol

  21. Stevo says:

    Will,

Glad to hear you are taking it over in the same spirit. This is one of the better sites out there covering Lost for sure.

I’m curious, what company pays you for your day job?

Also, I do hope the Lost writers/producers end the show after season 4 and don’t stretch it out for more money. Perhaps the network makes that decision. I always respected the Office BBC creators because after 2 seasons, the show ended. Why? Because that’s how long the story was, and no matter how popular it was, it was going to end. Of course, the BBC Office creators produce the American version of The Office, so technically, they are still doing the show.

    Anyway, love the blog here.

    Stevo
