On the Island

10-year-old Walt is definitely “special”. On the island, he had been grudgingly building a relationship with his father, but seems most at ease when going off exploring on his own or with his dog Vincent, another survivor. He has forged a friendship with Locke, who knows that Walt may be the one who is most comfortable on this island, unlike his father. There have been indications that he may have other parapsychic abilities that are as yet not fully tapped. Unfortunately, he was kidnapped by The Others during the violent raft encounter.

Background

Walt spent most of his life growing up in Europe and Australia with mother Susan Porter and stepfather Brian, who adopted him. After she passed away, Brian appeared uncomfortable with suspicions that Walt may have “powers”, and passed off responsibility to Michael.

Reason for being on the Flight

Michael was picking up Walt to live with him in the U.S. again.
